Posted byDirector/OwnerThis is an opportunity to join a multi £bn global platform which is responsible for managing a range of credit/debt exposures spanning multiple asset classes across the Real Estate space. This is a Senior Associate role where you’ll be tasked to manage a multi £bn credit portfolio.
The firm have an international footprint and manage debt and equity portfolios across a range of industries. The key purpose for this role is as follows;
1. Provide credit risk related services including, as required, monitoring and rmendation for action for a portfolio of positions (and potential future 3rd party portfolios) in a timely manner, meeting deliverables under the SLAs in time/format/quality agreed to allow asset owners the assessment of their risk position and making informed decisions.
2. Working as part of wider teams and within the firm to support the surveillance and reporting of portfolio transactions as well as new business initiatives.
3. Continuously monitor the development of individual portfolio transactions, perform market/sector research and analysis and inform management as well as client of any material developments on a portfolio of (mostly) performing loans
4. Regular (at least annual) analysis of key risks including financial risk, operational risk, off- taker/supplier/ guarantor risk, country/regulatory risk and market risk (as applicable)
5. Preparation of robust and concise internal credit papers (credit review, waivers/amendments) according to agreed formats and in a timely manner for review by line manager to obtain relevant client approvals during loan life
6. Work with line manager and responsible people to ensure a smooth credit process
7. Ability to manage workflows proactively and independently
8. Review/update of cash flow models (incl. base case and downside/stress case scenarios) to assess future performance and risks
9. Prepare internal ratings in accordance with applicable guidelines, and where relevant, preparation of client off colour and watch-list reports discussing trends, remedies, progress, future loan amendments and provide advice regarding possible exit strategies, where applicable
10. Analyse, evaluate andment on drawdown requests and transaction related financial, technical and legal reporting provided by borrowers and/or advisors as applicable
11. Ensure timely covenant tracking with adequate recording in relevant system
The Candidate
12. Must have established previous working experience with a proven track record in a related credit / risk/asset management environment involving real estate
13. Knowledge of credit risk drivers and risks inherent in the respective borrower industry sectors
14. Solid analytical and technical skills and ability to understandplex loan documentation and financing structures and ability to convey technical (modelling) concepts to both technical practitioners and third parties.
15. Ability to represent the firm and its clients and articulate, negotiate and implement decisions, strategies and documentation
16. Good organisational and time management skills, a hands-on approach and attention to detail are necessary
17. Good writing skills producing robust, concise and insightful decision papers
18. Team player with ability to work in a multicultural and international environment
19. Must be able to adapt quickly and efficiently to changing business and client requirements
20. Ability to work independently and to client deliverables deadlines
21. High level of familiarity of MS Excel, Word, Powerpoint and/or other data processing and analysis tools
