About Us
We are a new independent small animal orthopaedic and spinal surgery referral practice based in Poole, Dorset. The clinic which opened in 2024 offers cutting-edge treatment for referred cases from across the south. Referral experience is not essential as full training will be given.
Situated on the stunning Dorset coast, Poole is a charming harbour town renowned for its beauty, maritime heritage, and array of leisure activities.
The Role
1. Following practice policy and standard operating procedures relating to specific tasks
2. Providing in-patient care
3. Monitoring sedation and anaesthesia
4. Assisting with diagnostic imaging (X-ray and CT)
5. Running the practice laboratory
6. Calculating, preparing and administering pre-prescribed medications as directed by a clinician
7. Maintaining the highest hygiene standards at all times
8. Setting and maintaining nursing standards to a high level
9. Keeping accurate patient records of all events, treatments and communications
10. Recording of all client communications within the computer records
11. Assisting with patient admissions and discharges as required by the clinician
12. Assisting with surgical and medical procedures
13. Ensuring equipment is clean and well maintained
14. Cleaning and sterilising of instruments and equipment
15. Telephone answering and reception duties as required including greeting clients, making appointments and taking payments

1. Compassionate and has high level nursing skills
2. Skilled at time management
3. Good at both written and verbal communication
4. Kind, considerate and friendly and has the ability to establish effective working relationships with colleagues
5. Self-motivated and enthusiastic
6. Forward-looking and keen to acquire new skills

The Package
1. 20 days of holiday plus bank holidays and birthday leave
2. 25 days of holiday after 2 years of service then an extra day for every 2 years that you work for us (up to 30 days)

8. Salary £29,000-£36,000 dependent on qualifications and experience
