Job Summary
We are looking for a professional, well-organised and dedicated civilian practice manager to join our small team of healthcare professionals and administrative staff working within the Medical Centre at RAF Boulmer.
The position offers 37 hours in office work per week. Requests to work flexibly will be considered, but due to service delivery requirements, it must be on a job share basis as full-time hours need to be covered. Please note the salary will be pro-rata where part time hours are undertaken.

Job Description
As the successful candidate you will work as a member of the Defence Primary Health Care (DPHC) team and help lead the delivery of safe and effective Primary Healthcare (PHC) services at RAF Boulmer Medical Centre in accordance with Ministry of Defence (MOD) and DPHC policies and procedures. You will hold a key patient facing role and will have a major impact in promoting a positive image of the healthcare facility to patients and other users.
Duties Include The Ability To:
* work effectively and proactively with colleagues within a small team
* demonstrate a positive and engaged attitude to learning the required skills for the job
* with the initial support of the Practice Medical Sergeant (Med Sgt), plan, manage and oversee the daily running of the Medical Centre, utilising resources and assets efficiently to achieve stake holder requirements
* participate in general secretarial and administrative support to the Practice team
* facilitate effective communication between patients, members of the PHC team, secondary care and other associated healthcare agencies
As the successful candidate, you will be required to use the Defence Medical Information Capability Programme (DMICP) which is a computer based patient notes system, in addition to MOD Sharepoint. You will be expected to complete the DMICP foundation training and the Defence Medical Services (DMS) Practice Manager course (2 week course at DMS Whittington, Lichfield) as soon as possible after accepting the post.
