The job - We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Assistant Accountant to join our finance team. The successful candidate will support the finance function by performing a range of accounting tasks, assisting with month-end reporting, maintaining accurate financial records, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations and company policies. The ideal candidate should have a strong client focus and have worked as part of a team leveraging data-driven insights, customer engagement tactics, and strategies to align with their goals. They should also demonstrate a self-starter, creative approach, proactively identifying opportunities to optimize customer experiences, designing innovative solutions, and driving continuous improvement. Complete regular bank reconciliations. Manage all aspects of accounts payables and accounts receivables. Prepare client invoices in line with agreed contracts for review by the Financial Controller. Assist in preparing VAT returns and other statutory filings. Assist with preparation of monthly management accounts and financial reports. Perform general ledger reconciliations. Support the preparation of budgets and forecasts. Assist with year-end close process by preparing necessary documentation and reports. Assist with the implementation of financial process controls. Ensure compliance with internal controls and financial procedures. Provide administrative support to the finance team as required. Support the monthly payroll process. Qualifications and experience Graduate level/equivalent and working towards a professional qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA). 2 years or more experience in an accounting. Strong understanding of core accounting principles and financial processes. Experience in using accounting software and financial systems such a Excel for modelling.
