Job Title: Teaching Assistant – SEND School (Primary & Secondary) | Location: Runcorn | Start Date: Immediate | Contract Type: Full-Time or Part-Time roles available
We are recruiting for a well-established, large SEND school in Runcorn, catering for students aged 4 to 16 across two dedicated sites – one for Primary and one for Secondary learners. The school supports pupils with a wide range of complex needs including autism (ASD), Down syndrome, cerebral palsy, SEMH, communication difficulties, and more. The environment is safe, nurturing and inspiring, with ongoing support for staff and students.
Responsibilities
* Support children and young people aged 4–19 with a wide variety of needs.
* Adapt activities and resources to meet individual EHCP goals and learning styles.
* Build positive relationships and support emotional regulation, communication and life skills.
* Work closely with teachers, therapists and pastoral staff to ensure holistic support.
* Engage in hands-on, practical learning – from sensory activities to vocational training.
* Help maintain a safe, inclusive and structured learning environment.
Qualifications
* Experience supporting children or young people with SEND (in schools, care, residential, or youth settings).
* A calm, resilient and empathetic approach to behaviour and communication.
* A proactive, team-focused attitude with flexibility to support across age groups.
* Confidence in working 1:1 or with small groups.
* A real passion for helping young people reach their full potential.
