Our client is a multi-family private office working with a small number of high-net-worth families and business owners. The work sits at the intersection of investment portfolios, family wealth and long-term financial decision making.
The role is not centred on product sales or gathering assets. Instead, the focus is on thoughtful investment advice, portfolio oversight and helping clients make sound long-term decisions about how their wealth is structured and invested.
As the client base continues to grow, our client is seeking an experienced wealth professional with a strong investment background who enjoys thinking deeply about portfolios while also engaging in the broader conversations that surround family wealth.
The Role
At its heart, this role is about investment thinking. Clients look to the firm for clear and well considered advice on how their portfolios should be structured and managed over time.
You will spend much of your time reviewing and analysing existing portfolios, forming views on investment strategy and helping clients think through how their capital should be allocated across listed markets.
In practice the work is likely to involve things such as:
reviewing and analysing client portfolios
developing investment strategy and asset allocation
portfolio construction and asset allocation across equities, fixed income and funds, including manager selection and oversight
monitoring portfolio performance and risk
discussing long‑term investment strategy with clients
Investment decisions rarely sit in isolation. They usually sit alongside pensions, tax considerations, family structures and long‑term plans. You will therefore also engage with the broader financial context of clients’ lives and work alongside tax, legal and other advisers when required.
The Individual
We are looking for someone with strong investment judgement who also enjoys the broader conversations that come with advising families about their wealth.
You are likely to come from a wealth management or discretionary investment management background and will be comfortable discussing portfolio construction, asset allocation and manager selection with sophisticated clients.
At the same time, you will be relaxed engaging in wider wealth discussions, including areas such as pensions, tax‑aware planning and intergenerational wealth considerations.
You will hold chartered status within the wealth profession, for example Chartered Wealth Manager or Chartered Fellow through the CISI, or Chartered Financial Planner (FPFS).
Most importantly, you will enjoy working closely with clients over time, helping them think clearly about their investments and the wider context in which those investments sit.
The Opportunity
This role offers the opportunity to work in a private office environment advising a small number of sophisticated families where careful thinking, sound judgement and long‑term relationships are valued.
It would suit someone who enjoys the intellectual side of investment management and wants to apply that thinking within the broader context of family wealth rather than within a purely product‑driven wealth management model.
All enquiries will be treated in strict confidence.
