About the Opportunity
Our Intelligent Engineering Solutions Business is recruiting for adaptable, forward thinking Principal Process Engineers to join our process engineering capability in support of an increasing portfolio of projects. Our projects cover the full project lifecycle from small feasibility studies to commissioning on major projects and frameworks and everything in between. We deliver first class designs as part of multidiscipline teams across our diverse portfolio of projects covering topics such as:
1. Advanced modular reactors
2. Nuclear decommissioning
3. Defence
4. Fusion technology
5. Green hydrogen
6. Chemicals
To meet our desire to support the clean energy transition alongside the needs of our clients to develop solutions in sometimes challenging environments, we utilise our knowledge and experience built across our history in across diverse sectors, particularly in highly regulated industries such as nuclear and chemicals.
Your responsibilities will include:
* Leading functional input to projects
* Carry out engineering calculations and check the work of more junior staff
* Plan and prioritise own work and that of more junior staff
* Generate and check engineering estimates and execution strategies
* Provide functional support and guidance to more junior staff
* Recognise and address potential and actual cross-discipline issues and conflicts
* Proactively generate value adding options within projects to offer to clients
* Support the process engineering manager in non-project-based activities
Here's What You'll Need:
* Degree qualified in Chemical Engineering or equivalent
* Chartered Engineer status with a recognised professional body (e.g. IChemE)
* Proven track record of leading process delivery on projects to meet deadlines and high-quality standards
* Adaptable Process Engineering experience, and ability to use transferable skills across a wide range of projects and industries
* Strong analytical, communication, and leadership skills
* Self-motivated with the ability to work collaboratively and independently
* A good knowledge of Process Design Health, Safety and Environmental (DHSE) issues and knowledge of key regulations (e.g. DSEAR, CDM, COMAH) is preferable
* Experience of working in highly regulated environments would be advantageous
