Southern Housing is looking for a Senior Care & Support Worker to join our scheme at Green Meadows, Freshwater, Isle of Wight.
As a Senior Care Worker, you will assist the Registered Manager to lead and work as part of a team to provide care and support to residents in line with established care plans. You will be expected to work flexibly to meet the needs of residents and the wider service requirements.
You need to be physically able to undertake moving and handling tasks and will be subject to an enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service and Adult Barred List check. A driving licence and access to a vehicle with business insurance, for which mileage will be paid, is desirable.
You should be able to work evenings and weekends as appropriate and be required to be on the on-call rota and work on rota if needed.
What you'll be doing?
* Supporting the Registered Manager to line manage staff including supervision, appraisals, absence monitoring, and providing support and training for their personal and professional development, ensuring compliance with regulations.
* Maintaining awareness of legislative and contractual agreements for effective and quality service provision.
* Monitoring and assisting with resident involvement, daily activities, and social inclusion within the wider community.
* Assisting in the assessment of potential residents if required.
* Providing care to residents as identified in their person-centred care plans, including intimate personal care.
* Ensuring the delivery of care that promotes independence, rights, choices, and inclusion in their community.
What you'll need?
* Hold relevant NVQ Level 3 qualification (or equivalent) or actively studying towards this.
* Basic First Aid certificate.
* Proven knowledge of health & safety appropriate to the role.
* Knowledge and awareness of local services.
* Effective listening and communication skills, both written and oral.
* Ability to work independently.
* Ability to act calmly and professionally in emergency situations.
