Cover Supervisor work is ideal for those who are looking to gain experience in education before embarking on teacher training, or for individuals seeking flexible, term-time work in a rewarding school environment.
The Role:
As a Cover Supervisor, your main responsibilities will include:
1. Supervising whole classes during the short-term absence of the regular teacher.
2. Delivering pre-set lesson plans and ensuring pupils remain on task.
3. Managing classroom behaviour and maintaining a positive learning environment.
4. Responding to student questions where possible and reporting any issues to the appropriate staff.
5. Supporting the wider school community by assisting with break-time duties or administrative tasks when required.
The Ideal Candidate Will:
6. Have experience working with young people in a school or similar setting (. coaching, tutoring, youth work).
7. Be confident managing behaviour and maintaining classroom control.
8. Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
9. Be flexible, reliable and able to adapt to different school settings and year groups.
10. Be passionate about supporting students and contributing to a positive learning environment.
A degree is desirable, but not essential. Training and ongoing support will be provided by Tradewind Recruitment to ensure you feel confident stepping into the role.
