Are you an experienced Commercial professional based in the North of England?
Octavius is seeking skilled and motivated Senior Quantity Surveyors and Managing Quantity Surveyors to join our team working on a variety of highways projects in the North East and North West of England.
We are a dynamic civil engineering organisation committed to delivering exceptional transportation solutions across the UK.
Our pipeline of work in the North is varied, both in project value but also technical discipline because of the opportunities offered by our current secured Frameworks.
These frameworks offer a diverse selection of schemes such as capital highway and infrastructure projects, public realm improvements, highway surfacing works, structures restoration, watercourse and marine works, flood resilience and light rail projects.

The role will involve travel to our sites 2 to 3 days per week and is ideal for candidates based in Liverpool, Manchester, Leeds, or in the York, Doncaster or Newcastle areas.
Your Role and Responsibilities…
We are recruiting for various levels within our Quantity Surveying team, each playing a crucial role in our projects.
* You will be responsible for the robust commercial management of a variety of projects. This includes overseeing financial performance, managing costs, conducting procurement processes, and maintaining accurate financial logs and reports.
* You will work closely with customers and stakeholders to support successful project delivery, ensuring compliance with contractual terms and achieving business plan commitments.
* If you join as a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will lead multiple projects and manage a small team, ensuring their development and performance.
* As a Managing Quantity Surveyor, you will oversee a framework or major project and lead your team to deliver high-quality commercial services.

You'll bring…
* Practical experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor or Managing Quantity Surveyor in a civil engineering environment, working on multiple projects simultaneously.
* NEC Contracts experience is essential.
* Thorough knowledge of monitoring cost performance and effective contract administration.
* Evidence of building and maintaining effective relationships with teams, fostering a collaborative work environment.
* Track record of successfully managing and delivering against deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
* Good level of IT proficiency to leverage technology for efficient project management and thorough knowledge of cost management software and tools.
* Understanding of Lean principles, demonstrating a commitment to continuous improvement is an advantage.
