HCUK Credit Analyst (Wholesale) month FTCCountry: United Kingdom

Background and Job Purpose

Hyundai Capital UK Ltd (HCUK) is a joint venture between Santander Consumer UK and Hyundai Capital Services (HCS) in Korea, operating under Hyundai Finance, Kia Finance, and Genesis Finance brands. The company provides funding solutions to retailers and consumers. The Credit Analyst role reports into the Wholesale Credit Manager and focuses on conducting regular reviews of wholesale facilities, ensuring accurate data recording, and making lending recommendations to appropriate authority levels within HCUK, Santander, and HCS. The role also involves structuring and negotiating security arrangements to support lending proposals and acting as a liaison with external legal advisors. The Analyst controls and manages all daily wholesale activities within the role's scope.

Key Accountabilities

. General Strategic Responsibilities

1. Analyse, monitor, control, and report on HCUK’s Dealer Wholesale Funding Operations, focusing on credit risk assessment and continuous monitoring.

2. Conduct reviews of new business propositions and existing funding lines, including Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet, and Cash flow analyses of dealerships or groups.

3. Control and develop wholesale credit policies, procedures, controls, and reporting.

4. Identify opportunities for business and funding product development.

5. Detect early signs of risk issues, provide mitigation, and conduct site visits for credit watch accounts.

6. Contribute actively to the Wholesale Risk Team's performance

7. Validate and record data from external operations.

8. Support project delivery as part of strategic and operational plans and adhere to mandates and risk policies, actively engaging with HCUK’s conduct risk and customer focused culture.

. Technical Knowledge

Maintain current knowledge of risk, credit, compliance, regulatory requirements, and market best practices, acting as a subject matter expert in wholesale risk within the organisation.

. Stakeholder Engagement

Develop effective working relationships internally and externally, including with OEM partners, SCUK, HCS departments, auditors, third-party suppliers and organisations.

. Communication and Reporting

Maintain communications with regulatory and compliance bodies and key stakeholders. Develop and produce high-quality management information reporting dashboards under management guidance.

. Outsourced Oversight

Oversee and monitor outsourced or other HCUK department activities to ensure compliance with KPIs and SLAs delivery. Verification and audit of contractual obligations and charges.

. Insight and Continuous Improvement

Participate in ongoing reviews to improve quality assurance measures and ensure adherence to legislation, regulations, and internal policies.

. Risk and Compliance

Identify risks, incidents, and breaches in line with company risk and compliance objectives and procedures.

. Other Duties

Act as deputy for team members and represent the Wholesale Risk Department as needed, performing other reasonable tasks as requested.

Key Competencies

9. Planning: Independent planning of data collection, credit reviews, approvals, and ongoing monitoring.

10. Communication: Strong written and verbal skills for effective communication across all business levels.

11. Teamwork: Ability to establish strong working relationships with stakeholders and partners.

12. Time Management: Effective prioritisation and delivery within prescribed timeframes across multiple operations.

13. Analytics: Strong analytical skills with attention to accuracy and detail.

Key Expertise

14. Wholesale credit analysis in financial services, preferably automotive-related.

15. Understanding of financial services operations including products, automotive market, financial controls, and sales processes.

16. Knowledge of credit risk controls, processes, measures, management information, and reporting.

17. Familiarity with financial services policies, regulatory compliance, and technical credit knowledge.

18. Strong numerical and analytical skills with understanding of financial ratios.

19. Ability to produce documentation, business cases, briefs, and presentations.

20. Appreciation of legal, regulatory, and compliance issues related to wholesale credit and retail consumer credit environments.

21. Familiarity with 'treating customers fairly' principles and conduct risk.

22. Strong PC skills and business acumen, with confidence in dealing with senior and board-level management.

Other Information

This is a fixed-term contract for up to months. The role supports hybrid working, requiring a minimum of two office days per week at the head office in Reigate, Surrey. Domestic travel, including site visits to dealerships, may be required. A full driving license is beneficial.
