Overview
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Caregivers to provide essential support and assistance to individuals in need of care. The ideal candidate will have experience in various caregiving settings, including assisted living, nursing homes, and home care. This role requires a strong commitment to patient care, with a focus on enhancing the quality of life for seniors and individuals with specific health needs such as Alzheimer's and dementia.
Responsibilities
* Provide personal care services, including assistance with bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
* Support clients with mobility and transfers, including heavy lifting when necessary.
* Administer medication as prescribed and monitor clients for any changes in health status (preferred but not essential).
* Prepare nutritious meals according to dietary requirements and preferences.
* Assist with daily living activities and engage clients in social and recreational activities to promote mental well-being.
* Implement behaviour management strategies as needed to ensure a safe environment.
* Maintain accurate records of care provided and communicate effectively with family members and healthcare professionals.
* Drive clients to appointments or social outings when required.
Requirements
* Previous experience in caregiving roles such as senior care, hospice care, or home care is highly desirable.
* Knowledge of Alzheimer's care, dementia care, and general patient care practices is essential.
* A background in nursing or related healthcare fields is advantageous.
* Certification in first aid is preferred but not essential.
* Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with clients and their families.
* Ability to perform heavy lifting tasks as needed for client mobility support (use of hoist machine at times).
