Job Description
We are seeking a talented and motivated Fermentation Manager to lead and manage the fermentation operations (internal and external). The successful candidate will ensure on time despatch of products and project materials, consistent high quality product, good manufacturing practices, and adherence to safety and environmental practices. The Fermentation Manager will lead continuous improvement initiatives to deliver the fermentation operational strategy.
Expected Activities
Operational Leadership
* Accountable for all fermentation manufacturing operations, internal and external
* Lead and develop the fermentation team to drive safety and performance
* Set and monitor key performance indicators for fermentation
Technical & Process Management
* Oversee large-scale equipment
* Stay current with industrial fermentation technologies
* Ensure staff adherence to routine maintenance and cleanliness of equipment
* Ensure continuous improvement in OEE (overall equipment effectiveness)
* Quality, Safety & Continuous Improvement
o Ensure safe manufacturing and adherence to good practices
o Ensure regulatory compliance
o Lead continuous improvement with Technical, Quality, Supply Chain, and Food Safety teams to optimize processes and productivity
External & Cross-Functional Collaboration
o Manage and develop relationships with external fermentation partners
o Coordinate with Supply Chain to optimize raw material and product flow
o Apply business acumen to drive profitability through improvements
