Job Description
3. Manage major capital investment and refurbishment projects, ensuring delivery on time and within budget
4. Lead and coordinate mechanical and electrical installations, cyclical maintenance, and statutory compliance
5. Perform detailed building surveys, condition assessments, and defect inspections
6. Prepare tender documentation, cost estimates, and manage contract administration
7. Oversee fire risk assessments and ensure compliance with building safety legislation
8. Act as Principal Designer under CDM regulations, ensuring robust health and safety management on site
9. Monitor and report on contractor and supplier performance against key performance indicators
10. Support energy performance assessments and contribute to sustainability and carbon reduction initiatives
11. Deliver professional presentations and reports to a range of stakeholders
12. Collaborate with teams to integrate new developments with maintenance and investment plans
The Successful Applicant
13. Responsibilities of the successful candidate:Take ownership of project management for major investment and refurbishment contractsLead and motivate delivery teams, contractors, and suppliers to ensure high performanceMaintain strong financial control, including budgeting, cost estimation, and value engineeringEnsure all work complies with relevant legislation, planning authorities, and statutory requirementsPerform the Building Safety Manager role, managing compliance with the Building Safety Bill/ActConduct fire risk assessments and monitor the resolution of identified risksUndertake comprehensive building surveys and inspections to assess defects and stock conditionManage energy performance compliance, including SAP assessments and sustainability initiativesPrepare and deliver clear, professional reports and presentations to internal and external stakeholdersCollaborate closely with other teams to align maintenance and investment programmes effectively
Qualifications required:
Degree in a construction-related discipline or relevant experienceFull contract administration experience, including tender preparation and site managementStrong knowledge of health and safety legislation, including CDM regulations and Principal Designer experienceProven experience in building safety and compliance practicesQualified Fire Risk Assessor with up-to-date trainingDesirable: Membership of RICS, CIOB, or similar professional body
