Opportunity Sheffield, the Employment & Skills Service within Sheffield City Council, is seeking to appoint a Project Support Officer to provide administrative support services for its suite of employment and skills programmes.
The role of Project Support Officer will support the delivery of the Opportunity Sheffield's aims, which include helping local people get jobs, find apprenticeships and access training, supporting them to overcome barriers to employment and career progression. The service also provides in-work support for Sheffield employees who are looking to upskill, progress in employment or change career.
The Project Support Officer will provide crucial support to a wide range of internal and external stakeholders. The idea candidate will be organised, proactive and a team player, with a positive approach to problem solving. They will have experience of working in a busy environment and be ready and willing to support colleagues and customers through a variety of methods.
Key responsibilities will include supporting users of our record keeping systems, focusing on data accuracy, generating reports and assisting with investigation of issues or errors. The position is to provide broad support for the whole service which will include business administration, customer service, colleague support, and assisting in preparation of reports.
This is a fixed-term appointment until 31st March 2026.

Full-time employees work 37 hours for 52 weeks of the year and we offer a generous holiday entitlement. We are open to discussions about a wide range of flexible working opportunities which benefit you and the Council, including reduced hour contracts, working part time or as a job share.
If you are appointed to this role, your starting salary will be at the bottom of the grade. If you provide payslip evidence that your basic pay is greater than the bottom of the grade, we will consider starting you at the point of minimum advantage within the grade.
