Job Description
Key Responsibilities of the Audit Manager:
3. Managing and delivering external audit assignments for Education clients, including academies and MATs
4. Leading audit engagements from planning through to completion and sign-off
5. Reviewing audit work prepared by junior team members and providing guidance and mentorship
6. Acting as the main point of contact for clients, ensuring excellent service delivery
7. Ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards, audit regulations, and sector-specific requirements (e.g. ESFA guidance)
8. Identifying opportunities to provide additional advisory services to clients
9. Supporting the Partners in developing and growing the Education client portfolio
10. Contributing to internal process improvements and team development initiatives
The Successful Applicant
The successful candidate MUST have demonstrable experience within the Education sector and a strong technical audit background.You will:
11. Be ACA / ACCA qualified (or equivalent)
12. Have significant audit experience within an accountancy practice
13. Have proven experience auditing Education sector clients (essential)
14. Possess strong knowledge of sector-specific regulations and reporting requirements
15. Be confident managing multiple engagements and meeting deadlines
16. Demonstrate excellent leadership, communication, and client-facing skills
17. Have a proactive and commercial approach to client service
