Main duties of the job Youwill take a key role in delivering high-quality emergency care, providingsenior clinical input, guiding patient management, and supporting flow throughthe department. Working closely with consultants and multidisciplinary teams,you will supervise and mentor junior staff, contribute to teaching andtraining, and help drive quality improvement initiatives. The post holder will provide senior clinicalassessment, diagnosis, and management of patients presenting with a wide rangeof acute conditions, ensuring safe, timely, and effective care. Youwill take a leading role on the shop floor, offering guidance and clinicalsupervision to junior doctors and advanced practitioners, while workingcollaboratively with the wider multidisciplinary team to support patient flowand decision-making. Therole includes active involvement in teaching and training, contributing toeducational programmes, simulation, and the development of trainees and otherhealthcare professionals. You will also participate in clinical governanceactivities, including audit, quality improvement projects, and departmentalmeetings aimed at enhancing patient safety and service delivery. Thereare opportunities to develop specialist interests such as medical education,paediatric emergency medicine, leadership, and service development.
