Looking to develop yourself further and embark upon your new exciting career? An opportunity has arisen for an Apprentice Countryside Officer based within the Community and Leisure Service. Within this service, you will work alongside experienced colleagues to gain valuable skills in countryside management and conservation while studying for a Level 2 in Conservation, Countryside and the Environment (Countryside Worker - Sparsholt College Hampshire). The role involves outdoor practical wildlife conservation and survey experience, as well as developing office-based skills such as designing site notices, interpretation, and reviewing wildlife surveys.
Test Valley Borough Council offers a skills programme in the first year, including workshops on communication, presentation, first aid, project management, and job shadowing. All apprentices are supported by a manager, colleagues, and an experienced mentor for guidance and confidence building.
The salary is £8.28 per hour, increasing to £8.87 after the first year or the national minimum wage, whichever is higher. Benefits include:
