Teaching Personnel is seeking dedicated Additional Learning Needs (ALN) Teaching Assistants to work across a range of friendly and supportive secondary schools in the Caerphilly area. Your Role as an ALN Teaching Assistant
You will work closely with teachers and SENCOs (Special Educational Needs Coordinators) to support pupils with diverse learning needs. Your role will be key to both their academic progress and personal growth, ensuring every learner has the opportunity to thrive.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide one-to-one or small group support to students with ALN/SEN
* Deliver tailored learning activities and adapt resources to meet individual needs
* Promote positive behaviour and maintain an inclusive classroom environment
* Encourage engagement, independence, and confidence in learning
* Collaborate with teachers and external specialists to monitor progress
* Prepare classroom materials and help organise daily activities
* Offer personal care and ensure pupil safety and well-being when required
What We’re Looking For
* Experience supporting children or young people (especially with ALN/SEN) is desirable but not essential
* A patient, empathetic, and proactive approach
* Strong communication and teamwork skills
* Passion for helping every child reach their full potential
* Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualifications are a bonus, but not required

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
