GSL Education are currently seeking a dedicated Behaviour Mentor to join a supportive school in Derby. This role offers the opportunity to make a real difference in pupils’ lives by providing guidance, mentoring, and support to help them achieve their full potential. Role Overview: As a Behaviour Mentor, you will work closely with teaching staff to support pupils with behavioural, social, and emotional needs. You will provide one-to-one or small group mentoring, encourage positive behaviour, and help students develop the skills to succeed academically and socially. As a Behaviour Mentor, you will: Support pupils in managing their behaviour and developing self-regulation skills. Provide guidance, mentoring, and encouragement to pupils facing challenges. Work collaboratively with teachers, pastoral staff, and parents to implement behaviour strategies. Promote a safe, inclusive, and respectful learning environment. Monitor and report on pupils’ progress and behaviour improvements. Uphold high standards of safeguarding and pupil welfare. Requirements for Behaviour Mentor: Experience working with children and young people, ideally in a school setting. Strong understanding of behaviour management strategies and pupil support. Excellent communication, patience, and interpersonal skills. Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, staff, and external professionals. An enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to apply). A full CV covering the last 10 years, with explanations for any gaps.
