Job Title: Heavy Plant/HGV Fitter Location: Glasgow Shift Pattern/Hours: 4 on 4 off Days /Nights rotating 7am-7pm and 7pm -7am Salary: £44,460 -£51,480 per year My client is a large independent HGV Maintenance company with several depots around Scotland. They have been established for over 60 years and are the leaders in bulk transport, they are constantly investing in their fleet ensuring the highest standards of working conditions. Their huge fleet consists of over 160 vehicles, over 500 trailers and tankers. The successful Heavy Plant/HGV Fitter will be working on a mixture of HGV`s, JCB, Crushers, Cranes and a variety of other Heavy Plant machinery. Key Responsibilities of the Heavy Plant/HGV Fitter • Carry out servicing, preventative maintenance, inspections and repairs on HGVs and Heavy Plant equipment • Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic and electrical faults • Fault finding and diagnostics across a varied fleet of equipment • Conduct inspections, safety checks and preventative maintenance • Prepare vehicles and plant for MOT, LOLER and PUWER inspections • Complete job cards and maintenance records accurately • Ensure all work is carried out in line with health & safety standards • Maintain workshop cleanliness and organisation • Attend breakdowns when required Requirements of the Heavy Plant/HGV Fitter • Proven experience as a Plant Fitter, HGV Mechanic, or similar role • Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, pneumatics and electrics • Relevant qualifications (NVQ / City & Guilds or equivalent preferred) • HGV licence desirable but not essential • Ability to work independently and as part of a team • Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail What We Offer the successful Heavy Plant/HGV Fitter • Competitive pay depending on experience • Overtime opportunities • Company tools and equipment • Stable, long-term employment • Supportive working environment If you are an experienced Heavy Plant/HGV Fitter and would like to find out more about this exciting role please call Chris Grimes at Kemp Recruitment on (phone number removed)
