We’re currently looking for a Bank Teaching Assistant to join our team. The successful candidate will support our students as needed across the two schools.
What is bank/casual work?
Our bank staff usually cover staff sickness, holiday, and busy periods and can choose which days to work, offering great flexibility.
About the Schools
Part of the Aurora Group, Aurora Eccles and White House schools in Quidenham, Norwich, provide day placements for students aged 6 and above, primarily with communication and interaction difficulties or specific learning difficulties such as dyslexia. Some students may be on the autistic spectrum or have anxieties and barriers to learning.
With small classes, a maximum of students and at least 3 staff per class, we focus on individual needs. There is a full clinical team onsite and support from an experienced and stable SLT.

The Role
The purpose of the Teaching Assistant is to support children with their learning and care in school and other settings. You will develop and deliver personalized learning, support pupils with routines, transitions, and positive behaviour management. A tailored approach ensures each student can reach their full potential in a caring and safe environment. You will also assist the Class Teacher with daily class operations.

Key Duties
1. Establish warm, caring, and supportive relationships with pupils to help them feel safe and enjoy learning.
2. Promote independence and personal development, maintaining high behaviour expectations.
3. Contribute to providing high-quality, challenging, and differentiated educational activities supporting a broad curriculum.
4. Support the Class Teacher in daily class management.
5. Adapt to the changing needs of the school to ensure smooth operations.
6. Support pupils’ cognitive, social, emotional, behavioural, physical, and spiritual development.
7. Work collaboratively within a multi-professional team.

Skills and Qualifications
* GCSE Maths and English Language qualification (minimum Grade 4 or equivalent).
* Level 2 - 3 Teaching Assistant Qualification (or working towards).
* Understanding of Safeguarding and Child Protection procedures.
* Knowledge and experience with pupils with SEMH, ASD.
Due to the school’s location, candidates must hold a full UK driving licence and have access to their own vehicle.
