Your new role
The Technical Author Apprentice will work closely with our design engineering and project management teams to create concise and accurate literature to enable the continued safe use of our products in service. You will also be responsible for maintaining configuration control of publications.
What you can expect from the role
* Compilation of Company Technical Publications and procedures to enable the continued safe use of our products in service.
* Maintaining configuration control of publications and company procedures.
* Maintaining consistency and accuracy across all product documentation.
* Liaising with project managers and stakeholders to ensure project deadlines are met.
* Managing document design and style, and reviewing document lifecycle to ensure publications use current methodologies and technology.
* Supporting the compilation of other departments' documentation as reasonably requested by Design Engineering management.
* Evaluating, defining, and resolving design and manufacturing problems.
* Developing an in-depth understanding of Company Technical Publications and their purpose.
Experience and qualifications
* Minimum of A-Level or equivalent in an engineering, IT, or technical discipline.
* High level of IT literacy.
* Meticulous attention to detail.
* Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken.
* Highly developed communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
* Knowledge of change management processes.
* Knowledge of Simplified Technical English.
* Experience with Adobe Creative Suite or similar authoring software.
* The ability to multitask, prioritize, and learn quickly.
* Experience with the change control process within an engineering environment.
* Technical writing and/or experience within the manufacturing industry, ideally in an aerospace EASA Part 21G or DAOS environment.
