BCL Legal is delighted to be working with a leading national law firm on the recruitment of an Employment Senior Associate to join its high-performing Employment team, based in Birmingham. This is an outstanding opportunity for an experienced employment lawyer to take on a senior role in a dynamic and fast-growing practice.
The Role
You will be joining a nationally recognised Employment team advising a high-calibre client base across sectors including logistics, mobility, technology, and retail. This role will suit a commercially minded lawyer who enjoys both technical excellence and client-facing responsibility.
Key responsibilities include:
* Advising on a broad range of employment matters (both contentious and non-contentious)
* Leading complex litigation and high-value corporate support matters
* Mentoring and developing junior lawyers within the team
* Building and managing key client relationships
* Taking a proactive role in business development initiatives
The role is based in Birmingham, with hybrid working options available
The Candidate
You will be a qualified employment Senior Associate with at least 5 years' PQE, ideally gained within a leading national or regional practice. You will have a proven track record of advising employer clients and a confident, collaborative approach.
You will demonstrate:
* Strong experience in handling complex employment matters
* Excellent technical and client relationship skills
* An interest in leadership, mentoring, and strategic team contribution
* Confidence in working with major clients and senior stakeholders
* A commercial outlook and enthusiasm for business development
