About the role This role supports the provision of palliative care to children, young people and families living with a life limited condition. Palliative care includes the provision of respite breaks, enabling children opportunities to have fun and make memories ‘adding life to shortened years. You will provide high quality, holistic, family centred and compassionate care whilst meeting the complex clinical needs of the children in our care. The hospice delivers end of life care to a small number of children, working with specialist teams providing training and advice to manage children’s symptoms effectively. You will work as part of a large team comprising of clinical staff, activities coordinators and the child and family support team. Essential criteria Education/ Qualifications RNC or RN Adult or RN LD registration 3-year post registration experience Experience Evidence of continued professional development Ability to manage a small clinical team Excellent clinical skills and knowledge Excellent interpersonal skills and can communicate effectively with children, families and professionals Demonstrate the values of the hospice and inspire this behaviour in others. Ability to present information written and orally in a clear and logical manner. Experience of supporting junior members of staff and students. Experience and confident in managing child and adult safeguarding concerns. Excellent time management and organisational skills Competent IT skills Able to travel across various sites where applicable Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Previous leadership and management experience Teaching and mentorship qualification Physical assessment qualification IV competency Experience of working with CYP with complex needs.
