Supply Teaching Assistant – Grimsby and surrounding areas
Location: Various primary schools across the local area
Contract: Flexible supply work – full-time or part-time
Pay Rate: £90–£100 per day
About the Role
We are seeking confident and resilient Supply Teaching Assistants with strong classroom experience to support primary schools across Grimsby and surrounding areas.
This role is ideal for individuals who are skilled at building positive relationships, maintaining routines, and supporting children who may present challenging behaviour or require additional pastoral support.
What You’ll Be Doing
* Classroom Support & Learning
* Supporting the class teacher with daily tasks and routines
* Helping to deliver engaging learning activities to whole classes and small groups
* Encouraging pupil participation and ensuring all learners stay on task
* Creating a calm, structured, and positive learning environment
Supporting Challenging Behaviour
* Supporting pupils who display behavioural or emotional difficulties
* Using de-escalation strategies and consistent behaviour expectations
* Providing a steady, nurturing presence to help pupils regulate and refocus
* Following school behaviour policies and contributing to a safe learning environment
One-to-One & Targeted Support
* Working closely with pupils who have additional learning or behavioural needs
* Running or supporting intervention activities under teacher/SENCO direction
* Helping pupils develop confidence, independence, and resilience
Flexibility & Adaptability
* Working across EYFS, KS1, and KS2 depending on school needs
* Adapting quickly to new classrooms, routines, and behaviour systems
* Being available for pre-planned or same-day supply bookings
* Communicating clearly with school staff and your Reed consultant

* Strong classroom experience
* Confidence in supporting learners with challenging behaviour
* Calm, consistent, and proactive behaviour-management skills
* Professionalism, reliability, and excellent communication
* Patience, empathy, and the ability to build positive relationships quickly
* Commitment to safeguarding and following school policies
* Has an Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one)
