JOB TITLE: Finance Analyst Our company is a fast-growing global company based in Harpenden where we have our centralised Accounting function for International business. We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Finance Analyst to join our finance team. The successful candidate will support key financial controlling operations, including audit coordination, financial reporting analysis, statutory accounts preparation, budget co-ordination and the valuation of goodwill and intangible assets. The role will involve deep-dive analysis of accounts, reconciliations, and providing insights to support decision-making. Key Responsibilities Audit Coordination: Act as the primary point of contact for external auditors. Prepare audit schedules and gather supporting documentation. Manage requests from auditors during interim and year-end audits. Ensure timely resolution of audit queries. Statutory Financial Statements Support the preparation of UK statutory financial statements in accordance with relevant accounting standards (e.g., FRS 101, IFRS). Assist in drafting financial disclosures and ensuring audit compliance. Financial Analysis And Reporting Assist Accountant team in performing detailed P&L and Balance Sheet analysis on a monthly and quarterly basis. Analyse variances against budgets, forecasts, and prior periods, and provide commentary. Identify trends, risks, and opportunities through detailed financial analysis. Support To The Accountant Team Assist the Accountant team with monthly close activities. Prepare and review account reconciliations for key balance sheet items. Investigate and resolve unreconciled items timely. Support the team with ad hoc finance projects and initiatives, including system or process improvements. Support on annual budget co-ordination. Goodwill And Intangible Valuation Support Assist in preparing models and supporting documentation for goodwill impairment reviews. Monitor indicators of impairment and support annual impairment testing exercises under IFRS. Other Areas Identify and implement improvements in financial processes, controls, and reporting. Support system enhancements and automation initiatives where appropriate. Support on projects to enhance the Finance controlling function Supporting other adhoc Finance requests Skills, Qualifications And Experience This role is ideal for part-qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) looking to progress further with their experience and qualification. Prior experience coordinating external audits and preparing UK statutory financials. Strong technical knowledge of IFRS and FRS 101 Prior experience around intangible assets and goodwill impairment Strong experience with financial analysis, reporting, and account reconciliations. High attention to detail, analytical thinking, and ability to work independently. Strong communication skills, with the ability to liaise with both finance and non-finance stakeholders. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills ERP System experience preferable (JD Edwards, E1 or Enterprise one) Previous experience in a multinational environment or regulated industry (e.g., chemicals, manufacturing, pharmaceuticals) is advantageous.
