The LloydsDirect vision
At LloydsDirect, we believe in empowering patients through smoother medicine management. We’re on a mission to build an innovative prescription service that’s simple and accessible for everyone. By simplifying repeat prescriptions, we’re not just making things easier for our patients, we’re taking pressure off the NHS too.
It’s all part of a bigger plan – to create a world where people are empowered to be healthier. To get there, we’ll need help – your help!
Our story so far
Many brilliant ideas were born at a kitchen table. Simplifying NHS prescriptions was one of them, and that’s how Echo, a plucky start-up, was founded in 2015. Since then, we’ve had a rebrand – becoming LloydsDirect – and have joined the prestigious Pharmacy2U family.
We make repeat prescriptions hassle-free, for over one million patients (and counting!). And as a certified B-Corp, with an ‘Excellent’ rating on TrustPilot, everything we do has our patients and the planet in mind, and always will.
Our team and company culture
You’ll be joining a dedicated, diverse team of experts, from pharmacists to Patient Care Advisors, designers to developers, and much more. We value those who bring innovative, creative solutions, agility and compassion to the table and understand the importance of making sure every voice is heard.
With an unbiased recruitment and selection process, we actively encourage applications from women, people from the LGBTQIA+ community, people with disabilities, and people from minority ethnic groups.
What you’ll do as a Shift Manager
As a shift manager, you will be responsible for the end to end shop floor operations of the pharmacy, at Perivale, during the hours of your shift. You will take ownership of both the goods-in and dispensary areas, and utilise your available resources to achieve the best outcome possible for each shift.
You’ll work in close collaboration with the Fulfilment Manager and the other shift manager to drive a culture of continuous improvement within the pharmacy, and ensure that LloydsDirect is a great place to work for all employees. You should challenge the status quo, and should always be looking at how established processes can be improved. You are the person who brings people together and works towards common goals together with other shifts and teams.
Your direct reports will be the Process Managers whose main priorities will be running their areas in an efficient, but safe manner. You will use your prioritisation and people skills to manage these competing priorities to always ensure that the patient remains at the heart of our approach. Coaching your team will also be key to your success, and you’ll recognise that upskilling your team is vital when it comes to moving the fulfilment operation forward. You’ll work especially closely with the planning and training functions of the business, to ensure that you have a constant flow of resources as your team develops.
You will need to work with your teams to ensure that we achieve the targets set by operational leadership, which focuses on an Employee engagement, patient's Age of an Order and your shifts cost to serve (GP3). Your aim will be to drive Age of Order down simultaneously with GP3, whilst ensuring that our workplace remains a great place to work on a daily basis and your teams remain engaged and proud. Maintaining this balance will require you to collaborate with numerous stakeholders across the business.
You’ll also take on relationships with our external suppliers and logistics partners, ensuring that all aspects of our operation flow, right through from goods-in to goods-out. You will also be proud of your workplace, both from a team perspective, but also from an infrastructure perspective, driving a culture of the highest safety and cleanliness standards.

Our interview process
We know that applying for a new job takes effort, and we appreciate every application we receive. However, as we receive a large number of CVs and portfolios, we’re unable to respond to all applicants.
If you are invited to interview, here’s what you can expect.
The first stage of the interview process will be a screening call with our internal recruitment team. They’ll assess you on the basic requirements of the role. If that goes well then you’ll be moved to the next stage of the process which will be a practical assessment. Here you will be provided with a scenario that you could expect to come across in your future role. You will be provided with the task, before presenting your response to the Fulfilment manager, Head of Operations and another member of the Ops Leadership Team.
