Our unique space houses the main office, manufacturing floor, distribution centre, and a fully equipped chemical synthesis laboratory.


Electronic Design Engineer

Salary: £35,000–£50,000 per annum (depending on experience)
Hours: Full Time
Location: Windsor St, Sheffield (full‑time, on‑site working essential)

Join our Research and Development team and contribute to the full product development lifecycle for precision scientific electronic equipment.


About The Role

* Develop mixed‑signal circuits for modern devices with multiple functions and low power/voltage.
* Design verification using simulation, analysis, and test techniques including support to EMC test houses and customer installations.
* Generate technical documentation such as system wiring diagrams, specifications, test protocols, and reports.
* Liaise with software teams to design and test electronics for embedded software, I2C, SPI, USB, Ethernet, EMC, and ease of manufacture.
* Work with ADC/DAC devices and techniques.
* Analogue design including op‑amps, transistor‑level design, control loops, and low‑noise techniques.
* Collaborate with mechanical, production, and procurement to ensure clean handover into production.
* Review non‑conformities, undertake fault finding, and resolve related technical production issues.
* Adhere to company plans, procedures, and product performance goals.
* Deliver tasks on time and in full.
* Learn new technology fundamentals quickly, show flexibility, and handle multiple projects and priorities.
* Develop system electronics focusing on safety standards and product certification support (EMC, Safety, CE, UKCA).
* Design, build, and maintain rigs for testing PCB assemblies and other production items.


About You

* Hold a 1st class BEng or MEng in Electronic Engineering or a closely related subject with relevant industrial experience.
* Have 2–3 years of experience in electronics, embedded system design, and embedded software integration.
* Show wide-ranging design skills covering digital, analogue, embedded firmware, and PCB layout.
* Experience designing and developing digital/analogue circuits, motor drive, and sensors integration.
* Understand interface protocols between software and hardware.
* Apply schematic capture tools and PCB design & manufacturing techniques.
* Understand control loop systems (Open Loop, PID, Feedforward Control).
* Have used product safety approval (EMC, ESD, LVD, CE, UKCA) and quality management systems.
* Have experience with advanced electronics test equipment such as oscilloscopes, analysers, and function generators.
* Have experience with engineering release and change control.
* Be adaptable, resourceful, and proactive in problem solving.

Product Development Electrochemist

Salary: £40,000–£46,000 per annum (depending on experience)
Hours: Full Time
Contract Type: Fixed term
Contract Duration: 2 years with potential for permanence

We are seeking a highly motivated electrochemist to join our R&D team and drive electrochemical product development through research and innovation.


About The Role

* Product development of electrodes, electrochemical cells, and photoelectrochemical cells.
* Provide quality customer support and service.
* Develop content for electrochemical products including white papers, videos, and graphics.
* Upgrade our existing potentiostat for corrosion studies, electrochemical synthesis, and battery research.
* Design and prototype a galvanostat with application scientists and engineers.


About You

* Hold a PhD in electrochemistry, electrocatalytic research, or a similar degree.
* Dedicate yourself to developing high‑quality, low‑price electrochemical products with expert customer service.
* Demonstrate experience in cyclic voltammetry, electrochemical impedance spectroscopy, fuel cells, electrocatalytic CO₂ reduction or HER/OERs, and/or potentiostats and galvanostats.
* Follow advanced electrochemical techniques with experience in electrochemical cells or photoelectrochemical cells.
* Be a proactive problem‑solver, resourceful, and capable of independent research and testing.
* Enjoy a collaborative environment.
