CNC Miller (Permanent Role) – Wetherby
Working within a busy machine shop you will manufacture high‑quality precision components, ensuring accuracy, efficiency and adherence to customer specifications.
Responsibilities
- Programming, setting and operating CNC milling machines (HAAS) using Fanuc controls
- Interpreting engineering drawings and job specifications to produce components to tight tolerances
- Selecting correct tooling, setting offsets and ensuring machine capability is optimised
- Producing one‑off and small batch precision components to a high standard
- Carrying out first‑off inspections and in‑process quality checks using measuring equipment
- Editing programmes at the machine to improve efficiency and resolve issues
- Monitoring machine performance and making adjustments to maintain quality and productivity
- Working to production schedules and meeting deadlines in a fast‑paced environment
- Maintaining a clean, safe and organised working area in line with health & safety standards
- Collaborating with colleagues across production and engineering to ensure smooth workflow
Skills & Experience Required
- Proven experience in CNC milling (setting, operating and ideally programming)
- Strong working knowledge of Fanuc control systems
- Experience working with HAAS machines (highly advantageous)
- Experience with 3, 4 or 5‑axis milling
- Ability to read and interpret detailed engineering drawings and technical specifications
- Experience producing precision components to tight tolerances
- Confident selecting tooling, setting offsets and making programme adjustments
- Understanding of inspection processes and use of measuring equipment
- Experience working with a range of materials (steel, alloys or similar)
- Ability to work independently and manage your own workload effectively
- A proactive, positive attitude with strong attention to detail
