Principal Control & Instrumentation Engineer
Location: Coventry - Hybrid
Salary: £58k - £65k plus overtime

What you'll be doing - Principal Control & Instrumentation Engineer
1. Develop a functional design for the Vehicle Control
2. Work closely with the Office of the Chief Engineer to support assurance activities
3. Deliver the vehicle control system, reporting progress through agile toolsets
4. Provide guidance and instruction on engineering methods/processes
5. Develop technical solutions, mentor team members, and support their development
6. Engage with legacy stakeholders in developing technical solutions from a known baseline design
Your skills and experiences - Principal Control & Instrumentation Engineer
* Experience in developing a C&I design for large-scale systems, ensuring compliance with functional & industrial standards
* Experience managing non-functional requirements (e.g., EMC, shock)
* Experience authoring/reviewing design documents such as I/O schedules, functional design specifications, interface control documents
* Degree or equivalent in Engineering, Physics, Maths, or Science
* Understanding of control system architecture and communication protocols (e.g., RS-485, PROFIBUS)
