Job overview We are looking for an enthusiastic person to join us in the older people and frailty team in Spalding. Our team support patients over the age of 65 with severe and enduring mental health diagnoses and provide an all-age memory assessment, diagnosis and treatment pathway. This job role will focus on our memory pathway, and the post holder will be supporting our patients who already have a diagnosis of dementia. We are based at the Johnson Hospital in Spalding, a modern purpose-built hospital with free staff parking. We are not able to offer sponsorship for this role. Advert The main duties of this role will be to support patients newly diagnosed with dementia when starting medication by monitoring side effects and responses and reporting these back to the medical team. You will also be responsible for yearly checks of dementia medication with patients and their carers and then communicating any concerns back through to the medical team. Training and support will be given. The candidate will require excellent communication and organisational skills to undertake this role and will also need to have a good understanding of basic computer skills, as our clinical notes are all digital. You will be expected to investigate information from several clinical systems and sources. Training on these systems would be provided. Ideally the candidate will have a broad understanding of dementias, and it would be a suitable role for someone who has already worked within the care sector or with patients who have a dementia diagnosis.
