About the role
As a Mechanical Pipe Fitter, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient installation, maintenance, and repair of mechanical equipment to a high professional standard. Working on multiple sites, with no two days being the same, you will be presented with unique challenges using your expertise to plan and deliver industrial installations.
This position requires a combination of technical skills and problem-solving abilities. Conducting site surveys and assessments to determine project requirements and develop installation plans
Key Duties:
• Read and interpret technical drawings to ensure accurate installation and maintenance of equipment
• Perform pipe fitting tasks, install and align pumps, motors, and other mechanical components
• Troubleshoot and diagnose issues, identifying root causes and implementing effective solutions
• Conduct preventive maintenance to ensure optimal performance and longevity
• Prepare detailed reports on installation, maintenance, and repair activities
We provide extensive support and training ensuring you are competent in designing, installing and commissioning mechanical components / machinery as appropriate. You will be issued a laptop and smart phone, allowing you to access relevant software packages to support your role and communicate effectively with the project teams.
You will be a fully mobile worker (van and fuel card provided) starting and finishing from home. About you
With a hands-on practical approach and keen eye for detail, you’ll be familiar with pumps and other mechanical equipment and have the desire to expand your skill-set with training, which can further improve earning potential. Attaining two technical modules attracting circa £3,000 in salary payment.
1. The successful candidate will be competent in reading and understanding installations from mechanical drawings, identify the source of issues and identifying potential installation solutions.
2. You’ll be a time served mechanical engineer (pipe fitter) educated to at least ONC/NVQ level 3 or equivalent.
3. Demonstrate an installation and/or maintenance background.
4. Able to manage your time efficiently with minimal supervision.
Above all we are looking for someone with a can-do attitude and a willingness to learn and explore new ways of working.
A full, UK manual driving license is essential!

5. Potential to receive payment for up to 4 Technical Modules (extra salary for extra skills). £1,500 per module per year with expectation that each technician will achieve a minimum of 2 modules within 3 years

Prospective employees in defined safety and security critical roles will be required to undertake a drug and alcohol test after the job offer has been made. This will be prior to or within four weeks of their start date.
