Fantastic opportunity for an experienced Financial Accountant to work for this established Distribution Company in Stevenage. This position will ideally suit someone who is AAT qualified and/or in addition is studying towards CIMA/ACCA qualification. Experience working with control accounts and bank reconciliations is essential. A proactive and professional attitude is a must. There is the potential for hybrid working after 6 months. (One day at home). Main Duties: * Monthly sales ledger control account reconciliations for reporting to bank in relation to invoice financing facility. * Preparation of management accounts for the UK and France * Support in preparation of monthly sales reports. * Support in month end process for UK business (£150m turnover) * Daily and weekly bank reconciliations for £, $ and Euro bank accounts * Posting of bank charges, direct debits, bank transfers and other miscellaneous receipts / payments. * Monthly balance sheet reconciliations including intercompany, suspense, stock and WIP * Maintaining the fixed asset register * Quarterly VAT returns for Australian entity * Raising bank transfers. * Preparation of month end journals to support the production of the management accounts. * Assist the Financial Controller in maintaining an effective control environment. * Flexibility as the task list is growing due to number of acquisitions within the group. I am looking for someone who will work well, efficiently and in positive attitude with other team members as the work require a level of monitoring of performance of AR/AP teams. The Ideal Person: * AAT Qualified * Ideally working towards * Excellent team player – happy to help out * CIMA/ACCA qualification or working towards * Experience working with control accounts and bank reconciliations is essential. * Good working knowledge of Excel and Word * Above average ability with maths and English!
