About the Service
The Tayside Harm Reduction Service is Hillcrest Futures’ service for adults who use substances. This service operates in partnership with NHS and other key stakeholders in Angus, Dundee and Perth offering access to specialist Harm Reduction interventions. The Harm Reduction Service is an open access, confidential service that provides sterile injecting equipment as well as access to overdose awareness, Take Home Naloxone and Blood Borne Virus testing and treatment.
About the Role
The project worker will provide one-to-one support delivering sterile injecting equipment and associated paraphernalia to people who inject drugs in Angus with a requirement to also cover Dundee and Perth as and when required. In addition, the project worker will support with education around prevention of Blood Borne Viruses and overdose.
Deliver key interventions around safer injecting and offer alternatives to injecting whilst carrying out assessments of injecting risk to minimise overdose and address contributing behaviours.
About You
You will;
1. Have experience of working with people on a one-to-one basis as well as experience of working within a multi-agency team.
2. Have good written and verbal communication skills.
3. Experience of community based work and the ability to deliver awareness-raising and educational sessions to a range of stakeholders.
4. Be self-motivated and able to work under your own initiative
5. Be Educated to SCQF Level 7 SVQ3 or equivalent
