Are you a seasoned Project Manager with a deep technical understanding of Building Engineering Services? We are looking for a high-caliber professional to lead Multi-Functional Project Teams (MFTs) in delivering complex plant replacement and refurbishment projects from inception to handover. This role offers the opportunity to manage significant small-to-medium refurbishment projects within existing buildings, providing a diverse range of challenges across various sectors. You will have the autonomy to lead teams and the support to deliver excellence in engineering.
The Role
As a Project Manager, you will be the driving force behind the detailed design and delivery of building services for major plant works. You will bridge the gap between technical design and on-site execution, ensuring all projects meet H&S, ethical, and technical compliance standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Set up and manage MFTs, including external specialists like Architects, QS, and CDM managers.
Manage Full Project Lifecycle from feasibility and CAPEX business case preparation through to site monitoring and final handover.
Develop detailed design briefs, specifications, and technical reports using industry-standard software.
Act as the primary point of contact for clients, maintaining excellent relationships and developing briefs into construction requirements.
Conduct audits and validate progress on-site, ensuring strict observance of technical compliance and safety.
Skills & Attributes
We are seeking a candidate who combines technical engineering expertise with robust project management discipline:
Qualifications: ONC/HNC (or equivalent) in a Building Engineering Services discipline.
Relevant membership (CIBSE, IMechE, or IET) is essential.
Significant experience in Capital Investment Project management, ideally within a consultancy or FM environment.
Practical understanding of M&E plant, systems, and equipment, including life cycle planning and condition surveys.
Proficiency in MS Project, SharePoint, and G-Suite, alongside industry-standard design tools.
