Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) – WF17 – SEMH Provision

Milk Education are currently working in partnership with a warm, supportive SEMH setting in the WF17 area. We are seeking a confident and experienced HLTA (Higher Level Teaching Assistant) to support pupils in Years 1–6 with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
This is a rewarding opportunity to make a genuine impact in a nurturing environment that prioritises consistency, understanding, and strong relationships. The role involves covering PPA time and requires someone who can step in with confidence and maintain a calm, structured classroom environment.
The Role:
1. Delivering pre-planned lessons across Year 1–6 SEMH classes to cover PPA
2. Working closely with class teachers and support staff
3. Building positive, trusting relationships with pupils
4. Supporting emotional regulation and engagement in learning
5. Maintaining consistent routines and a safe, structured learning environment
Requirements:
6. Qualified HLTA status (or qualified teacher with relevant HLTA experience)
7. Recent experience supporting children with SEMH needs
8. Confident leading whole-class sessions independently
9. Strong behaviour management with a calm, patient approach
10. Team Teach training is highly desirable
