The Role
As a Residential Support Worker, you’ll play a vital role in the daily lives of the children in our care. You’ll provide emotional and practical support, help with education and leisure activities, and promote independence and positive outcomes.
Key Responsibilities Include
* Building trusting relationships with children and young people.
* Supporting with daily routines, activities, and appointments.
* Managing challenging behaviour using positive behaviour support approaches.
* Promoting emotional wellbeing, safeguarding, and development.
* Working closely with the wider care team, social workers, and families.
* Maintaining accurate records and care plans.
About You
We’re looking for caring, patient, and reliable individuals who are passionate about helping young people achieve better futures.
Essential
* Experience working with children or young people in a residential or care setting.
* Compassionate, calm, and resilient nature.
* Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
* Commitment to safeguarding and promoting welfare.
* Ability to deal with challenging and acting out behaviour from children and young people.
* Flexibility to work shifts, including weekends and sleep‑ins.
Desirable
* Knowledge of current childcare policies and practice.
* Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or willingness to work towards it).
* Full UK driving licence.
