Financial Accountant – Flight Operations

The Team

The Role
As Financial Accountant – Flight Operations, you'll report to the Finance Manager – Flight Operations and support all accounting activities for Fuel, Crew, and Disruption costs. You'll deliver month-end activities, provide insightful analysis, and partner with Operations Finance and the wider business to ensure stakeholders have accurate and timely information.
You'll play a key role in:
* Supporting ownership of current costs (actuals) from a profit and loss and balance sheet perspective
* Delivering internal and external financial reporting
* Enhancing the financial control framework
* Driving and monitoring cost-saving initiatives
* Collaborating with Group Financial Reporting at key periods
What we're looking for
* Qualified accountant with strong analytical skills and experience in variance analysis
* Ability to communicate and challenge effectively at all levels
* Proven experience interpreting accounting complexity across balance sheet, cash flow, and P&L
* High attention to detail and ability to summarise complex information for non-financial stakeholders
* Self-starter with a proactive approach to continuous improvement
* Excellent Excel skills (up to basic macros); Planning Analytics experience preferred
* Strong team player who can build effective relationships across functions

Practicalities
This full-time role will be based in Luton and will be 40 hours per week. We support hybrid working and we spend 60%25 of our time per month in the office.
