What You Will Do
* You will build, integrate and test our systems, under the supervision of the lead engineer.
* You will liaise with Operations staff to ensure efficient delivery of the systems.
* You will coordinate with the software & DevOps teams to solve integration issues during system build.
* You will automate system testing in collaboration with the DevSecOps team.
* You will ensure that systems are secured in accordance with the DevSecOps guidance.
* You will support the lead engineers and take on appropriate self‑managed tasks that support system delivery, for example, completing test documentation.
* You will display strong communication and collaboration skills.

Qualifications You Must Have
* Experience of building, integrating and testing IT systems, involving a range of hardware and software.
* Experience of commercial operating systems, either Windows or Linux (RHEL and Ubuntu).
* Experience delivering IT systems to internal or external customers.
Qualifications We Prefer
* Experience of defining and integrating standard COTS server and workstations, alongside network storage.
* Experience of configuring networks.
* Experience of Active Directory, authentication and file shares.
* Experience and knowledge of DevOps (OCI container implementation including Docker, Podman or Kubernetes).
* Experience of securing systems using Defence Information Systems Agency (DISA) Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG) process.
* Experience of secure Windows Server lockdown with DISA STIG protocols.
* Experience of managing and documenting system delivery e.g. formalising test procedures and results, establishing part specifications.
* Knowledge of, or experience with, the following elements of our existing technology stack, would be advantageous:
o Atlassian Bitbucket and Jira
o JUnit and the Serenity BDD framework
o JFrog Artifactory and X‑Ray
o CMake, Gradle and npm
o Jenkins, SonarQube, Docker, Podman
o Ansible, Puppet, Chef
o Terraform
o GitLab
o Prometheus/Grafana
Where & When
This is a full‑time role (38 hours per week) based in Malvern. Since March 2020, we have adopted a flexible hybrid working approach. You will be expected to be in the Malvern office three days a week and more often when required, typically during the system integration phase of a programme. The role can involve regular international travel to commission and upgrade systems – up to eight working weeks a year, typically to America, Europe, Middle‑East and the Far East. You will report to the Engineering Manager who is also based in Malvern.
