Job responsibilities Post holder will partake in a 1‑in‑7 Registrar of the week rota (0800‑1700) along with a Consultant of the Week, two Urology SHOs covering wards and emergency department, one FY1 and one Physician Assistant.
The overnight and weekend on‑call shifts are organised on a 1‑in‑7, 24/7 middle‑grade rota compliant with the EWTD and the 2018 Junior Doctors Contract.
Work will include rotating with seven consultants across theatre, outpatient clinics, endoscopy, prostate biopsy clinics and lithotripsy at Watford General, Hemel Hempstead and St Albans City.
Mandatory experience with performing flexible cystoscopy (either with a trainer unscrubbed or independently) is required.
This role is ideal for progression to higher specialist urological training and offers the opportunity to develop a broad range of urological procedures, including flexible cystoscopy, prostate biopsies, lithotripsy, and management of urological emergencies.
The department is busy but friendly, welcoming, and committed to training.
