Job summary

To ensure compliance with the relevant legislation e.g. Section 75 Statutory duties to promote equality of opportunity and good relations, Section 49A of the Disability Discrimination Act 1995 (“DDA”) Section 49A, Safeguarding Board (Northern Ireland) Act 2011 and the Rural Needs Act (2016).

In particular the development and implementation of the Councils’ Equality Scheme and Disability Action Plan and to advise on the development and implementation of Council Policy in relation to these.

Please note

1. There is 1 permanent, full-time post, working 36 hours per week.
2. The working hours are Monday to Thursday 9.00am to 5.00pm and Friday 9.00 am to 4.30 pm
3. The post is based in City Hall, Bangor but the postholder may be required to work at any other location within the Borough
4. Flexibility to meet the needs of the post.
5. A valid driving licence with access to a form of transport that will allow fulfilment of the duties of the post or have access to a suitable form of transport which will enable the post holder to meet the requirements of the post*
6. A reserve list may be kept from this recruitment exercise.
