Location: Peterborough / Hybrid
Who are we?
We’re the @one Alliance – a ground-breaking collaboration between Anglian Water and seven industry-leading partners: Balfour Beatty, Barhale, Binnies, MMB, MWH Treatment, Skanska and SWECO. Together, we deliver over half of Anglian Water’s capital investment programme.
As we prepare for AMP8, our most ambitious period yet, we’ll be delivering an even broader range of innovative and environmentally-driven infrastructure projects – from urban drainage to nature-based solutions like constructed wetlands.
Join the @one Digital Team and play a key role in driving digital transformation through innovative geospatial technologies. You’ll work collaboratively across the Alliance and digital community to embed GIS solutions, deliver insights through analytics, and support the adoption of new digital tools. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to industry-leading change, shape digital strategy, and develop your skills in a dynamic, forward-thinking environment. Be part of a team that’s redefining efficiency and collaboration in infrastructure delivery.
What you’ll be doing:
Deliver GIS Insights: Perform spatial analysis using existing tools and data, report findings, and support decision-making with GIS-driven insights.
Drive Innovation: Research and apply new GIS techniques, tools, and data sources to solve challenges and improve data integration and system efficiency.
Support and Train Users: Provide end-user support, deliver training, and develop guidance materials to increase adoption of GIS applications.
Lead GIS Implementation: Manage rollout plans, onboard new users, and coordinate with superusers to ensure smooth integration of GIS processes.
Develop GIS Applications: Build and enhance GIS tools using the ArcGIS suite, streamline workflows, and manage development with external partners.
Promote GIS Across the Alliance: Advocate for GIS by delivering presentations, producing comms content, and increasing user engagement
Engage with Suppliers: Collaborate with external stakeholders, attend industry events, and challenge suppliers to maximise product value.
Support Digital Strategy: Contribute to the digital team’s goals, champion innovation, and help shape and implement the Alliance’s digital transformation strategy.
What you’ll bring:
Relevant Background: Degree in geography, science, or related field (other degrees also considered), with experience in GIS—particularly in analytics or application development.
Technical Expertise: Proficient in ESRI ArcGIS products (especially ArcGIS Online and Pro), working with raster and vector data, and familiar with coding languages like Python, SQL, and Arcade.
Digital & System Knowledge: Exposure to managing and supporting business systems, and using software to drive process improvements and business efficiency.
Industry Experience: Experience or exposure to the water industry and capital delivery processes is advantageous.
People & Communication Skills: Strong stakeholder engagement, customer-facing experience, good written and verbal communication, and a willingness to support end users.
Team & Delivery Focus: Interest in project life cycles, teamwork across disciplines, and a solid understanding of process improvement and system training/support.
