Overview
NHS England Choices College is a supported internship programme that aims to support young adults with learning difficulties, disabilities, or autism to become employment ready. You will work closely with the Education Quality Assurance Manager in delivering the Functional Skills educational outcomes and maintaining an employment transition rate for students at above 75%. You will play a key role in ensuring the programme meets the educational needs of the students and regulatory bodies.
Please note: This post teaches at up to 3 different locations across west London and potentially Buckinghamshire depending on location of candidate. Willingness to travel is essential.
Responsibilities
* Deliver bespoke Maths and English training to interns in a classroom setting.
* Maintain detailed weekly individual records for each student that meet inspection requirements.
* Work on differentiated tasks with groups of students to deliver SEN provision and support the development of social and emotional skills.
* Provide 1:1 support for students with SEN as needed, with strong report writing skills.
Qualifications
* Educated to degree level or equivalent.
* Recognised post-16/adult teaching qualification at minimum Level 3 (AET/PTTLS/PGCE or equivalent).
* Confident communicator with students who have a range of learning disabilities.
* Recent extensive experience of working with students who have additional educational needs.
* Experience in supporting the education of students with SEN on a 1:1 basis in the classroom.
* Strong report writing skills; training in Systematic Instruction methodologies would be helpful.
* A passion for supporting students with SEN to meet their full potential is essential.
