Due to expansion this new role is responsible for ensuring technical support in finished good specifications, artwork approvals, Internal Audits and process approval of new products. Job Role: Finished product specifications - To provide skilled technical support by writing, approving and maintaining accurate finished product specifications within the required timeframes, ensuring information contained is consistent with the source data (e.g. raw material data, factory recipes/specs, etc) and compliant with customer requirements and relevant legislation. Artwork Approval - To ensure the timely approval of accurate, right first-time product pack copies and artwork in accordance with customer requirements and relevant legislation. Internal Audits Be a member of the Internal Auditing team and carry out internal audits as required according to the Internal Audit schedule. Process approval of new products Represent the Technical department at the handover of New Products from NPD to production, ensuring all documentation is accurate and in place e.g. work instructions, QAS and recipes. Key Responsibilities: Approve and maintain finished product specifications for all finished products supplied. This will include: Completing specifications in accordance with customer protocols ensuring data provided is accurate, valid, and compliant with customer requirements, relevant legislation and company policy Calculating and generating ingredient declarations in required customer format Ensure that all data and/or claims that are linked with product specifications can be supported and are validated against customer requirements, legislation and company policy. Receive, evaluate and action as appropriate requests to amend/update specifications ensuring effective communication with all relevant stakeholders. Legal pack copy generation of technical information required for product packaging (Primary and Secondary) ensuring compliance with customer requirements and relevant legislation. To upload approved cutter profiles onto customer portals. Artwork Approval (covering primary and secondary packaging) Working with all relevant stakeholders to ensure packaging artwork designs are compliant with legal / customer technical requirements. To ensure all relevant supporting documentation has been completed to the required standard and is linked to the appropriate specification. This may include, but is not limited to nutrition results, QAS/CCP documents and certificates. To keep up to date with customer and legal requirements and ensure all customer portals are maintained. To consider and respond to customer queries regarding specifications as and when they arise Present product specifications to customers as required during visits/audits and implement corrective actions where required. Provide guidance and support to other departments as required to support understanding and awareness of specific customer requirements. Work closely with other functions, particularly product development and raw materials supply chain teams, to ensure collaboration on timescales. Keep up to date with process changes in factories where they could impact specifications Complete Internal Audits which have been assigned to you and are independent of your area of work, write up reports and close out any non-conformances Be present at NPD trials, NPD handover and first production for new productions, ensuring all quality and technical paperwork is complete e.g. recipes, work instructions, QAS and PCs are still applicable. Effective communication within internal operations teams to drive standards and customer expectations forward. Assist in preparation for external audits and customer visits Assist with traceability exercises. Assist with customer requests as required. Any other duties as required to fulfil Company needs. Essential Criteria: Degree or equivalent in a technical, food related or science-based discipline. 1 years previous experience with Retailer online specification portals. Knowledge of Food Safety Principles/Good Manufacturing Practises with a passion to promote food safety culture with a 'can-do' attitude. Be familiar with food safety management systems that comply with GFSI standards, including BRC. Good working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel. Good verbal & written communications Skills. Able to prioritise multiple activities/requirements and to complete them to the expected level of detail and accuracy. Reliable and strong work ethic with attention to detail.
