Langdale Chase Hotel, which sits on the banks of beautiful Lake Windermere, has recently undergone a full and significant refurbishment and reopened its doors in November 2023. In that time the hotel has achieved 5 Star Status from the AA and been recognised in the prestigious Times Top 100 Places to Stay, ranked No.3 and North of England Hotel of the Year.
We are looking for a Pastry Chef, reporting to the Executive Chef, to produce delicious and exquisite pastry items and desserts. You will be a vital part of our high performing brigade creating amazing experiences for our guests through delivering warm hospitality in every interaction.
Your day to day
* Use your eye for quality and creative flair to produce high quality food from scratch
* As Pastry Chef, you will create seasonal desserts and afternoon tea items with the support of the Executive Chef
* Manage a section within the kitchen, cooking with fresh ingredients
* Ensure the highest levels of hygiene and safety are maintained at all times
* Maintain areas of work and machinery
* Control the order and storage of food supplies
* Support other team members across the kitchen
* Team work
Who are we looking for?
Ideally, you will have a minimum of 2 years previous experience in a similar role in a bakery or pastry environment with the proven ability to produce high quality food, ideally using fresh produce and create new recipes and dishes on a seasonal basis. You will have worked in a high quality Four-Star or Five-Star hotel and have demonstratable experience in a fine dining environment You will proactively be able to work calmly and well in a pressurised environment, have high levels of self-motivation and a natural drive for excellence.
You will have exemplary customer service skills, good interpersonal skills, and the ability to work well with others to represent the Company and the hotel in a loyal, professional, and knowledgeable manner. You will have a strong work ethic, good timekeeping and the ability to multi-task whilst working in a pressurised environment.
