Derbyshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust offers training opportunities to complete Specialist Community Public Health Nurse (SCPHN) in Health Visiting for qualified Nurses and Midwives on a fixed-term 12-month contract. This program is at level 7 in conjunction with the University of Derby.
Specialist Community Public Health Nurse Training
School Nursing
Contract: Fixed-term for one year (with internal secondment opportunities). Successful candidates will be offered a place subject to funding from Health Education England.
Band 5: £30,639 per annum, pro-rata training rate for external candidates.

Main duties of the job
The course combines 50% theory and 50% practice, both of which must be completed to gain NMC registration. Academic study will be at the University of Derby, with practice-based learning within Derby City School Nursing teams. Holidays are set by the University within the course schedule.
You will work closely with a practice supervisor and be assessed by a practice assessor during your placement. You are expected to meet all competencies both academically and practically as outlined by the NMC. Upon completion, you will be a qualified Specialist Public Health Nurse in School Nursing within a 0-19 children's service division.
