Vacancy – Finance Administrator

With over 17 years of industry experience in an established, reputable business, we are looking for an experienced individual to join our dedicated team.

This role offers a structured development plan with career progression opportunities. Our experienced team will guide you through your training and development. It is an ideal opportunity for someone who takes ownership of their tasks and delivers within agreed timescales.

1. Managing the sales and purchase ledgers.
2. Credit control and following up on outstanding payments.
3. Performing regular bank reconciliations to ensure all transactions are accurately recorded.
4. Completing VAT returns and other financial documentation.
5. Preparing monthly financial reports.
6. Assisting in payroll preparation by ensuring employee timesheets are accurate and processing employee expense claims.
7. Managing relationships with suppliers, including setting up new accounts, processing invoices, and ensuring timely payments.
8. Proven experience with Sage 50 accounts.
9. Payroll experience (preferred).
10. Experience in completing VAT returns.
11. Attention to detail and accuracy in managing financial records.
12. Ability to work effectively with colleagues across departments.
13. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
14. Organisational skills to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
15. Problem-solving skills to identify issues and propose solutions.
16. Proactive attitude and ability to take initiative.
17. Good IT knowledge, including Microsoft Excel and Word.
18. Adaptability to changing priorities.
19. High ethical standards and discretion in handling sensitive information.
20. Effective time management skills.
21. Willingness to learn and adapt to new systems or procedures.
22. Analytical skills to analyze financial data and suggest improvements.

What We Offer:

1. Competitive salary of £27k - £32k depending on experience.
2. 37.5 hours per week (negotiable).
3. Company pension.
4. Monday to Friday (no weekends).
5. 25 days annual leave plus Bank Holidays, up to 30 days with long service.

* Microsoft Word: 1 year (required)
* Sage 50: 1 year (required)
