About the Role :

We are working with a fantastic SEN school for a dedicated and compassionate graduate to join their team as an SEMH teaching assistant. This role is beneficial for an Aspiring Youth Offending Officer. In this exciting, full-time role in the education and training sector, you will work closely with young people displaying Social, Emotional, and Mental Health difficulties, many of whom have a history of offending behaviour. You’ll have the opportunity to help guide them through rehabilitation programs, build meaningful relationships, and support their journey to positive social reintegration.

Responsibilities :

* Support young offenders in overcoming personal challenges, reducing risky behaviours, and preventing reoffending.
* Assist in the creation and delivery of personalised intervention plans aimed at promoting positive changes in Luton.
* Build rapport and trust with individuals on a 1 : 1 or small group basis, guiding them through rehabilitation and skills development.
* Promote social integration, personal responsibility, and the development of healthy lifestyle choices.
* Collaborate with professionals such as social workers, probation officers, and educators to provide holistic support.


We’re Looking For :

* A recent graduate in Criminology, Psychology, or a related field with a strong interest in youth justice and supporting young people, aspiring youth offending officer.
* While previous experience in a similar role is beneficial, it’s not essential; full training and support will be provided.
* A calm, empathetic, and patient approach to working with young people who may have challenging behaviours.
* Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with vulnerable individuals.
* A proactive attitude and a genuine desire to make a difference in the lives of young people.
* Local to Luton.
