Fortress Recruit is supporting a leading engineering organisation in their search for a full-lifecycle Systems Engineer to join their specialist team based in Poole.
This role will take ownership across the full engineering lifecycle, from requirements capture and design, through to integration, validation, and support in-service. You’ll be working on technically challenging, safety-critical systems that play a vital role in supporting high-integrity engineering projects within the defence domain.
Key responsibilities will include:
* Engaging in requirements analysis, system architecture, and design activities.
* Producing and maintaining technical documentation throughout the lifecycle.
* Supporting system integration, verification, and validation activities.
* Collaborating with cross-discipline teams (software, hardware, mechanical, test).
* Contributing to risk, safety, and reliability assessments.
* Providing engineering support through commissioning and into-service phases.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
* Proven experience in systems engineering within defence, aerospace, maritime, nuclear, or other complex/regulated environment
* Good knowledge of requirements management and lifecycle frameworks (V-model or similar)
* Experience in requirements management tools (DOORS or equivalent - desirable)
* Knowledge of systems integration and testing methodologies
* Understanding and experience of Design
* Eligibility to gain SC clearance (UK residency for min 5+ years, without visa or sponsorship requirement)
